Description

This 1950 Morgan F Super is finished in Black over a Burgundy interior and was restored in 2010. It resided in England until being imported by a Florida collector in 2011, and the selling dealer acquired it in 2015. It is believed that the car has been raced throughout its history, and it most recently participated in the Put-in-Bay Road Race Reunion in August 2013. The car is powered by a 1172cc Ford inline-four and the 3-speed transmission was rebuilt in 2015. The most recent work completed in 2017 included tuning the engine, synchronizing the carburetors, replacing a spark plug wire, and adjusting the front struts. This Morgan is titled in Florida as a street legal car and is being offered by the selling dealer with service records and spare parts. This Morgan F Super is one of 129 three-wheelers built between the end of World War II and the end of factory production in 1952. The exterior was refinished in Black around 2010 and is fitted with Brookland windscreens, a leather bonnet strap, side-mounted spare tire, and the original British tax disc. The rear end was modified at some point in its history from a barrel back to a beetle back and the front end was lowered and widened to increase stability. The brakes have been fitted with a Tilton master cylinder and self-adjusting front drum brakes. The Burgundy and wood interior shows minimal wear in the photos. The odometer indicates 16k miles and the true mileage is unknown. The 1172cc Ford 109E inline-four has been updated with twin SU carburetors, an electric water pump and cooling fan, an alternator, and a spin-on oil filter with rerouted oil lines. Recent service included a tune-up, synchronizing the twin carburetors, changing a spark plug wire, and adjusting the front struts. The 3-speed transmission was rebuilt in 2015 and utilizes a bevel box with synchronized gears. It has a lightened flywheel and power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a chain drive. Included photos detail the previous mechanical and cosmetic restoration that was completed around 2010 under the direction of Morgan three-wheeler specialist and racer Dave Hodgson. Documentation includes British registration certificates from the early 1950s through the 2000s and service records dating to 2011 when the car was imported to Florida.
