Description
This 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV was sold new in Oregon and underwent a restoration in the early 2000â??s that included a repaint and interior overhaul. The car underwent a glass out repaint in what is believed to be the original color. The paint presents well, though usual paint chips and dings consistent with age are present. The wheel well road rash mentioned in the previous ad has been professionally repainted. 15Ã?7â?³ GTA-style wheels with Michelin tires were installed in 2014. An aftermarket set of Rota wheels as well as a set of 14Ã?6â?³ GTA wheels are included in the sale. A complete interior overhaul was completed between 2011-2013 and included replacement tan seat covers and door cards, a new headliner, new interior wood veneers, a black carpet kit, and fresh door/trunk gaskets. The interior shows only minor wear. The gauge cluster was replaced in 2014, and the factory speedometer was retained during the swap. The dash shows no evidence of cracking or discoloration, though the original radio was removed when the new wood paneling was installed. The antenna and wiring were retained and are still present in the car. The 2. 0L twin cam inline-four underwent a complete engine out repaint and reseal in 2013 with receipts showing nearly $6k in work. An electronic performance distributor and coil was fitted, and the car currently sports the factory Alfa exhaust system, though a stainless steel MagnaFlow exhaust is included in the sale. The SPICA fuel injection system was rebuilt by Wes Ingram in 2014, and the car is described as a strong driver. A compression test showed 175, 175, 170, and 170 across all four cylinders. The 5-speed manual transmission was removed and rebuilt within the past six months to resolve the 2nd gear synchro issues noted in the previous listing. Lightened gears were used during the rebuild, and a new slave and throw out bearing were installed. The clutch was last changed in 2013 and was deemed to not need replacement during the rebuild. The factory Burman steering cases were known to crack, rendering them unserviceable. Adjustable upper control arms were fitted in 2014. Records from 2013-2015 show nearly $19k worth of work and are included in the sale. Additional records from the transmission rebuild and steering box replacement are shown in the gallery with the work totaling over $11k.
