1972 DODGE CHALLENGER RALLYE

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye. True JS23 car. Runs and drives great. Originally a 240HP 340 now has been replaced with a built 68 factory 275HP 340 power plant with 340 "X" heads, high rise intake manifold, edelbrock carb, nice comp cam, headers, factory electronic ignition hooked to a Torqueflite transmission with slap stick shifter and 8 3/4 3:23 rear axle. In 72 the R/T name was dropped and the Rallye tag added. Started life as a B5 blue car and was repainted and some body work was done in the 90's. Paint still shines well, but there is some rust coming through under vinyl top area, around trunk lid lip, and rear window area. Small sections of rear of both rocker panels and lower quarters were repaired with bondo, but not a large amount. Trunk and floorboards are in good condition as well as frame and undercarriage. Vehicle runs, drives and looks great as is. Woodgrain Rallye dash looks great with the 150MPH speedo, tach, gauges and inoperative clock. Center console, carpet, door sills, window cranks/operation all are in great driver condition. Right turn signal bulb on dash doesn't light but lights flash on the outside. Seats are comfortable and with power steering and power 4 wheel drum brakes, this vehicle is just plain fun to drive! Original engine was replaced with a built 1968 340 and runs very well. Rallye dash package with Tachometer and clock and all gauges as well as slap stick torqueflite automatic transmission. Tach isn't exact and the number 3 is faded but needle moves well. White leather seats look decent but do show their age. Rear seat bottom has a tear in it, see photos. White headliner, door panels and visors are in good driver condition. Black dash has 2 cracks and Challenger was ordered with the rare am radio with console mounted cassette player and optional rear speaker still works. Still has the factory ordered 3:23 open rear end. Have build sheet and fender tag.
