Description

1949 Buick Roadmaster 2-door hardtop convertible is very rare indeed. As most car collectors know the major change in automotive design post war did not take place until Harley Earl head of all GM design was able to get his 1949 Buick Roadmaster into production. Yes, all of the different divisions for General Motors had new body styles but the Buick Roadmaster 2-door hardtop was considered to be the crème de la crème. Besides this car being a Roadmaster, having the largest Buick body with largest Buick 8-cylinder engine and also having the automatic transmission called Dynaflow. It is a 2-door hardtop. In 1949 the 2-door hardtop was considered a revolution in design because it was thought to look like a hardtop convertible. The main component of course being that the B-Pillar was non-existent and the front window and the rear quarter window when abutted together when closed without any pillars in between. The Roadmaster of course was known for having four of the decorative air take portals on the front fender instead of three like the lesser Super.
